"Festival in the Park" will return to Cassidy Park April 11-13, 2008 with arts, crafts, non-profit, commercial and food booths, with children's entertainment. Friends of the Cassidy Park Museums, in conjunction with the Slidell Battery, will present an onsite encampment depicting civilian and military life during the 1860's. Last luncheon was our 2nd Annual Legislative Update held Aug 1st, 2007, at the Bogalusa Country Club--90+ reservations were made at $10 for Chamber members, their employees and guests. Sen. Ben Nevers and Rep. Harold Ritchie brought us up on the laws enacted during the last session. 2008's series will open with services of the Small Business Development Center out of Hammond, presented by Bill Joubert--date TBA

The SBDC is trying to help our local businesses by hosting various workshops as well as 3rd Thursday counseling sessions--call the Chamber at 735-5731 to register name/contact # --appointments are necessary as only so many per month can be seated.
